Rachel Kusher & The Mars Room. Thursday, May 9, 7:00pm, Austin Central Library.  Shortlisted for the 2018 Man Booker Prize and a New York Times bestselling novel, The Mars Room explores life inside a women's correctional facility, and the forces working against women in the criminal justice system. 

Hanif Abdurraqib & Go Ahead in the Rain, Wednesday, May 22, 7:00pm, Austin Central Library.  Poet, essayist, and culture-critic Hanif Abdurraqib (They Can't Kill Us Until They Kill Us) digs into the history of A Tribe Called Quest, and draws from his own experience to explore the group's distinct sound and pervasive influence. This love letter / memoir is as artful and genre-bending as the rap group itself.
