PAN DULCE is comprised of authors taking an in-depth look at each other’s work, talking about the process of putting their books together, and discussing writing life in general. Each episode will be hosted by a member of the Cinco Puntos team and pairs one of our authors with an author of a similar work from another independent publisher.
This episode features CPP Editorial and Foreign Rights Director Jessica Powers moderating a chat between Sergio Troncoso, author of the short story collection A Peculiar Kind of Immigrant’s Son, and City Lights’ Octavio Solis, author of Retablos. Amongst other topics, the authors talk about being from the Lower Valley area of El Paso, TX, and what it was like growing up as Mexican Americans and fronterizos.
