Eight Texas authors are included

Kathy L. Murphy, tiara-wearing, Beauty-and-the-Book-sharing founder of the Pulpwood Queens and Timber Guys Book Club, has announced the 2021 book selections, and there are eight Texas authors representin’.

The main March Book Club Selection is The Chanel Sisters: A Novel by Judithe Little. You can read the Lone Star Lit review here. March Bonus Book Club Selections include The Book of Lost Friends: A Novel by Lisa Wingate.

 

The main April Book Club Selection is The Flying Cutterbucks: A Novel by Kathleen M. Rogers. April Bonus Book Club Selections include The Fallen Girls: Book 1 and Her Final Prayer: Book 2 Detective Clara Jefferies by Kathryn Casey.

 

What Lies Ahead (Fireside, Texas Book II) by Marci Henna is a July Bonus Book Club Selection.

 

October is another Texas doubleheader with October Bonus Books of the Month The Illusion of Leaving: A Novel (read the Lone Star Lit review here) by Jeannette Brown and Switchback: A Patrick Flint Novel by Pamela Fagan Hutchins.

Murphy held the grand opening of Beauty and the Book, the only hair salon/bookstore in the world, in Jefferson, Texas, on January 18, 2000. She started the book club with “six complete strangers” a few months later. That book club has multiplied to more than 780 chapters, nationwide and in fifteen foreign countries, all dedicated to promoting authors, books, literacy, reading, and fun.
