Lone Star Lit team members were out and about in DFW attending the North Texas Teen Book Festival Ed Day and WORDfest.

On Friday, September 22, librarians Tabatha Pope and Kristine Hall from the Lone Star Lit blogger team joined hundreds of other educators at the North Texas Teen Book Festival Ed Day in Las Colinas. Special guests included Gordon Korman, Elizabeth Acevado, Raina Telgemeir, Soman Chainani, Holly Goldberg Sloan, David Bowles, Adam Gidwitz, and many more MG and YA authors. In a continuing education session, Sam Houston State University professor Dr. Karin Perry shared practical and exciting ways for educators to engage young readers from upper elementary through high school.

On Saturday, September 23, Lone Star Literary Life joined over thirty exhibitors representing North Texas writing groups, events, programs, and services in a fun-filled day at WORDfest, held in Hurst at the Tarrant County College Northeast Campus. Lone Star Lit blogger team members Jenn Belden and Leslie Storey helped connect LSLL to new readers and writers in the exhibitor hall while Kristine Hall led the Author Publicity and Partnerships session. One lucky reader ended her day at WORDfest by taking home a logo tote bag filled with nineteen books from the Lone Star Lit bookshelves.
