Writers strive to give authority and power to the reader by delivering superior content.
Savvy writers long for writing projects that capture their readers’ attention. We want to stand out among the blog posts and articles that fill online sources with memorable and valuable content. How does a writer choose a topic marked for success?
Try the following acrostic for unique to help you weave through the mass of ideas for the most informative and entertaining content.
U – Unusual
Unusual content offers an imaginative approach to a topic, with practical application. Writers can examine what’s happening around them: a trend, holiday, discovery, national event, or world occurrence that impacts many people. While many have written about the pandemic, can you create an extraordinary spin? How has the past year affected you in a positive way instead of a negative way?
N – Need
Purposeful content fills a need or an occasion. It’s written in easy-to-understand language and designed to help, not frustrate, the reader. FYI: readers are inclined to delete a post that doesn’t educate, entertain, inspire, help solve a problem, or provide solutions to better their lives.
I – Intriguing
Writers focus their content on ways to interest their readers about a particular topic. They develop information that attracts an audience to better enhance their careers, relationships, communication, and other areas of their lives. A blog post that encourages readers to think beyond the printed word is a positive for all concerned. Adding humor and wit also increases the reader’s appreciation.
Q – Quality
Quality content utilizes the writer’s research and expertise. The internet is bursting with ho-hum blog posts. Too many articles reflect a writer’s lack of understanding of the topic and simply don’t meet reader expectations. Commit to writing quality information for the betterment of our audience. Often focusing on one aspect of a topic with details and examples is more powerful than an overview that merely states the obvious.
U – Uplifting
Content may not always make the reader happy, but it must be uplifting. Condescending phrasing has no place in the blog and article world. Encouraging our audience is a noble venture. Our goal is to help our readers attain more than they ever dreamed by encouraging them to turn their challenges into strengths and provide ways for them to reach closer to their goals.
E – Empower
Writers strive to give authority and power to the reader by delivering superior content. We want our audience to finish reading our posts with tools to address the issues in their physical, mental, and spiritual lives.
Let’s commit to the importance of creating unique writing projects. What is one way you can contribute?
